Kennic began his professional career in 1976. He was initially trained in New Zealand with an international firm before transferred to Hong Kong and specialized in insolvency work on some large assignments, including Carrian Holdings Limited in 1982. He established KLC in June 1985 with excellent knowledge of the HK and international business environment. His broad accounting background, which includes work in audit, merger and acquisition, corporate restructuring, receivership and liquidation work, has enabled the firm to grow strongly in several directions. Kennic speaks Mandarin and has extensive experience in both HK and PRC particularly in relation to the setting up of Joint Ventures and their tax implications. He was a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants during 1991/2000 and a council member of the Society of Chinese Accountant and Auditors during 1997/1999. He is a registered Insolvency Practitioner and Appointment Taker under Administrative Panel of Insolvency Practitioners for Court Winding-Up (APIPCW) of the Official Receiver's Office since 1996. He was also a member of the Approval Committee of the APIPCW during 1996/99.
